The Society for the Preservation of Greek Housing (SPGH) originated at the University of Illinois in 1988. Our first goal is to assist housing corporations in their efforts to preserve, renovate and restore their chapter houses. Our second goal is to educate the public about the historic significance of fraternity and sorority chapters around the country.
Values, traditions, and friendships were formed by fraternity and sorority involvement in these chapter houses during college years and contributed significantly to the success of alumni and alumnae. SPGH wants to help ensure your fraternal structure is preserved to continue this influence. We will help you maintain the Greek community’s appearance and character, which gives it an identity and a personality all its own. You make the history and SPGH helps you preserve it.
